They then learned all about her life and completed a timeline and fact file. We also learned a poem and some children explained all about her in assembly.

Today in Science, we started a new topic about materials. We started the lesson by listing as many materials as we could, and then discussed adjectives we could use to describe what they felt like. The children then guessed what material might be in the bag just from clues using adjectives. We did this with wood, fabric and glass.

The children then looked at a range of materials and sorted them into 2 categories. We decided to sort them into hard and soft and then rough and smooth.

They had to think carefully about the order that things happened in the story to make sure they got the sentences in the right order.
